It's the scariest time of the year!

We LOVE this time of year, forget about the dark mornings and constant rain...it's nearly Halloween! Yes, we're too old for trick or treating but we're never too old old to give ourselves nightmares by staying up late and watching scary movies. Whether you love an old fashioned slasher film or prefer to be psychologically scarred for life with a dark thriller, there's a film out there to give you a good dose of the collywobbles

If you're looking for a scare this Halloween why not invite friends over for a frightfest movie night? Switch the lights off, lock the doors, rent a classic horror, don't fall asleep......& for goodness sake don't say 'I'll be right back'!

Freddy's Back! A Nightmare on Elm Street...and an
early appearance from Johnny Depp

The Dr's been matchmaking in The Bride of Frankenstein

New neighbourhood gone bad in Poltergeist

Classic 1950's French thriller Les Diaboliques

The reason we're never potholing...The Descent

Guillermo del Toro's fantasy masterpiece Pan's Labyrinth

If you prefer to head out to get the full cinematic horror experience, The Little Theatre in Bath is screening a Halloween special featuring 1920's classic Nosferatu & cult favourite The Evil Dead... book tickets Here...if you dare!!

So, you've got your scary movies and now you need to carve your pumpkin. If you're lacking in Blue Peter style crafting skills you may need a stencil to ensure your pumpkin is suitably spooky. Zombie Pumpkins have stencils for all your carving needs, from movie monsters and cult villains to rock gods and grinning jacks, you'll find a pattern that's perfect for you. Personally we're loving the Marilyn Manson & Beetlejuice designs!

And you won't want to waste the flesh either! Whip up this creamy chicken & pumpkin dish from BBC GoodFood and your friends are in for a Halloween treat.

Happy Halloween!
