It's the scariest time of the year!

We LOVE this time of year, forget about the dark mornings and constant rain...it's nearly Halloween! Yes, we're too old for trick or treating but we're never too old old to give ourselves nightmares by staying up late and watching scary movies. Whether you love an old fashioned slasher film or prefer to be psychologically scarred for life with a dark thriller, there's a film out there to give you a good dose of the collywobbles

If you're looking for a scare this Halloween why not invite friends over for a frightfest movie night? Switch the lights off, lock the doors, rent a classic horror, don't fall asleep......& for goodness sake don't say 'I'll be right back'!

Freddy's Back! A Nightmare on Elm Street...and an
early appearance from Johnny Depp

The Dr's been matchmaking in The Bride of Frankenstein

New neighbourhood gone bad in Poltergeist

Classic 1950's French thriller Les Diaboliques

The reason we're never potholing...The Descent

Guillermo del Toro's fantasy masterpiece Pan's Labyrinth

If you prefer to head out to get the full cinematic horror experience, The Little Theatre in Bath is screening a Halloween special featuring 1920's classic Nosferatu & cult favourite The Evil Dead... book tickets Here...if you dare!!

So, you've got your scary movies and now you need to carve your pumpkin. If you're lacking in Blue Peter style crafting skills you may need a stencil to ensure your pumpkin is suitably spooky. Zombie Pumpkins have stencils for all your carving needs, from movie monsters and cult villains to rock gods and grinning jacks, you'll find a pattern that's perfect for you. Personally we're loving the Marilyn Manson & Beetlejuice designs!

And you won't want to waste the flesh either! Whip up this creamy chicken & pumpkin dish from BBC GoodFood and your friends are in for a Halloween treat.

Happy Halloween!

Autumn Accessories

At this time of year it’s so difficult to accessorise, cloudy skies keep the air mild but as soon as the wind picks up you’ll wish you had a scarf. When you’re not quite ready for chunky knits & snoods these fine print scarves will do very nicely indeed. Striking prints and light fabrics make them the perfect office to evening accessory and they're ideal for adding a splash of colour to any outfit.

Beautiful prints in eye-catching colours make the autumn to winter transition a piece of cake (p.s they also make a wonderful & affordable gift!)

Animal instinct

We've gone crazy for animal prints this season...it started quite innocently with a few zebras and before we knew it there were lions and tigers and bears, oh my! Okay, not really, but we do have elephants, giraffes, birds, butterflies, horses & flamingos which is pretty great.

And while we're at it, we recently discovered some gorgeous animal inspired home accessories at Rose & Grey...is it too early to start Christmas shopping?!

Summer Holiday

As much as the PoM girls love our work, we also like to be beside the seaside! Whether we're staycationing in one of Britain's beautiful coastal towns & villages, or dusting off our passports for more exotic destinations, we'll be making the most of summer 2013.
So far this year the PoM girls have visited France, Italy, Thailand, Cornwall, Portugal & Dorset and enjoyed countless sunshine filled weekends in our own gardens. (Of course we also use a trip away as a perfectly valid excuse to add to our wardrobes....well, it seems a shame to waste an opportunity!)

What's your ideal holiday destination?

PoM trade show guru Hayley found that a scarf was the perfect accessory for her recent trip to Thailand. 'There were so many occasions where I was glad I'd packed scarves!' says Hayley, 'Not only did they protect my shoulders from the sun during the day, the larger scarves make the perfect sarong & they were great as an alternative to a jacket in the evenings.'

Trend it Maxi!

Now the sun is shining in earnest we've found another excuse to do a little shopping! This time we're all after the perfect maxi dress to keep us looking glam throughout the summer season.
This wonderful trend is a godsend in sweltering temperatures, it's stylish, flattering AND comfortable and, for those of us who don't have the legs of a catwalk model, it covers up enough of our pins to keep us happy. The PoM team are not size zero waifs, we're real women with real curves.

Here are our favourite summer maxi dresses, and we couldn't resist accessorising them with some of the best selling PoM jewellery designs!

We found our favourite maxi dresses at French Connection, Anthropologie, La Redoute, Next, Not on the High Street, Asos & Boden.

Remember Glastonbury?

Having the world’s biggest party on your doorstep, well it would have been rude not to attend. All seems such a long time ago now and we've been too busy to blog about it.
Of course we saw some stunning music; Arctic Monkeys, Chic, Alabama Shakes and my new personal favourite Goat, who were a visual treat. But as always with Glasto it’s what you see away from the main stages that really stick in your memory. Who can ever forget the reggae pounding trolley riding grannies? Pure joy.
