You only have to switch on TV or flick through a magazine to see that scarves are a huge accessory right now, with many people choosing to wear them whether it’s cold or not. They make a big bold statement that adds an instant hit of colour to your wardrobe and for the not so fashion confident, they're a brilliant way of experimenting with a colour you might not normally wear.

Scarves are also a fairly inexpensive way of giving your ‘look’ an update. Who has the cash to buy a new wardrobe 4 times a year? Or maybe you have to wear something fairly conservative to work (this doesn’t apply to us here at PoM, we’ve even been known to wear our slippers) putting on a bright patterned scarf at 5.30pm will certainly give you a ‘schools out’ tingle.

Our favourite look at the moment is colour clashing, there are a lot of pop colours out there and let’s be honest they can be quite hard to wear for the average British woman who never sees the sun! So wearing a bright scarf is a safe way to try a new fashion trend.

Working at PoM is dangerous for those of us who love a good scarf (I believe many of us now have a personal scarf collection to rival most boutiques) and we're not worried about mixing stripes with spots or animal prints with florals, it's just one of the fun elements to accessorizing.

Be my Valentine

With Valentine's Day fast approaching the PoM girls have been reminiscing about our most romantic experiences. Whether you look forward to Valentines as a celebration of love, or just enjoy the excuse to take time out from the humdrum & let someone special know how much you care, we can all recall a moment when someone made our heart flutter...even if some of us have to delve deep into our memory!

PoM's web girl had trouble thinking of a single romantic gesture, "It's not that my husband's not romantic, in fact he's more romantic than I am and he shows it all the time. He came home from work with an enormous bouquet of Lilies for me just last week. I think that's pretty special after 20 years together".

Customer service girl Lily had one moment in mind, "My boyfriend was walking me home one night when he stopped me, wrapped his arms around me, and as we looked at the stars he told me he was falling for me, it's little things like this that stay with me"

Our trade show guru Hayley has been the lucky recipient of a number of romantic gestures and her favourite by far was; "My boyfriend surprised me for my 23rd birthday by booking us a trip to see Hairspray in London and 2 nights in a posh hotel with a visit to Madame Tussauds thrown in - I'm a lucky girl!"

Hearing the office Valentine stories has been fun, heartwarming & sometimes unintentionally hilarious. We've remembered our first school crushes, disastrous dinners, woodland walks complete with roaring campfire, heart shaped kitchen appliances and much more. If you've got a Valentine memory that you'll never forget, please share it with us!

As much as we love wrapping up & keeping cosy it's time to banish the winter blues & put away the thermals. This season we're in love with pastels & feminine elements with pink, blue, green, ivory & soft grey making the perfect base for glorious nature inspired patterns & Indian prints.

Tilly is looking gorgeous in our new bird print scarf which is destined to be a best seller....I'm sure there will be more than a few PoM girls wearing this design!

Happy New Year!

Thank goodness for spring! This season sees the return of a fun, carefree feel and lighter colour pallette guaranteed to lift your spirits. Scarves are big again this season with soft fabrics & striking patterns, from ballerina pastels to nature prints & aztec inspired designs, you'll find something to add flair to your spring wardrobe.

As for jewellery PoM has lots to show you! We've brought the design element home & created some striking and playful pieces in an abundance of colour. Bold faceted stones and silver plated decorative twists make for a collection that's brimming over with personality.

A year in the life.....

2012 is coming to an end and it's been a whirlwind year for the PoM team. The last 12 months have seen an abundance of new designs, our first model & a very special new arrival.

This year Chris & Simon have brought in more new designs than ever before, in excess of 500 new additions to our fashion jewellery & scarf ranges have been launched since January and they've become some of our most popular designs to date. Our butterfly scarves in particular have been topping the best sellers list again & again.

A very welcome addition to the PoM family this year was our super pretty model Tilly. Letting natural beauty speak for itself is really important to us, if you've met any of us you'll already know that we're not high maintenance & we're all working women with hectic lives, (who really has time to apply a full face of make up when you have the school run to do?) so it was great to find a model with the same ethos - a smidge of lipstick and we're good to go, and we definitely don’t do airbrushing! We don’t need to and we wouldn’t want to.

Our Tilly is always enthusiastic, great to work with and we think she shows off our designs beautifully. And she certainly has the Midas touch, if Tilly models it, it sells!  We hope she continues to work with us for some time, at least until next year when she heads of to Drama College – so just remember, when you see her accepting that Bafta, we spotted her first!

The second new addition this year was PoM girl Brittany's baby girl Beaux, she really is a bundle of loveliness and although we miss Brittany while she's on maternity leave, we wish her & family a wonderful first Christmas together.

Although we hate to wish the time away we also can't wait to see what 2013 brings. The PoM Team love looking through samples & choosing their favourite pieces for the new season, as any group of women would! We can't tell you what we'll be launching in spring but we can give you a hint, here's what PoM Director Chris had to say:

‘Our new scarf collection is ultra feminine with luxurious fabrics in a range of ballerina pastels. We are so excited about these gorgeous new soft colours, they flatter any complexion and look irresistible when they are displayed together’
‘We’ve also spent the last few months sourcing the most beautiful beads and decorative findings for our jewellery collections and although we still love the vintage look, we have really enjoyed putting together some more modern designs in-house, it’s so nice to bring the creative process back home where it belongs'
